Geary County Sheriff’s Deputies have responded to two separate vehicle accidents so far this weekend.
At 4:51 on Friday afternoon deputies responded to the area of I-70 mile marker 294 for a two-vehicle accident involving minor injuries. A 1997 blue Chevrolet pickup driven by Aaron Powers, of Chapman, went to make an improper u-turn in the median when a 2004 Mercedes driven by a Matthew Cuss, of Lawrence, tried to avoid hitting the pickup and went towards the median. Both vehicles collided in the median. None of the parties were transported by EMS.
Deputies responded to a motorcycle wreck at 18th street and Jackson shortly after 2 o’clock on Saturday morning. Freddie Lawson, of Fort Riley, was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 when he lost control and wrecked. Gibson’s current status is unknown.
