A Grandview Plaza man was arrested for charges related to critical injuries suffered by a 2-month-old female infant, according to a press release sent Friday by the Grandview Plaza Police Department.
Police arrested Brigham Bailey, 33, on Oct. 20 for aggravated battery and interference with law enforcement.
The GPPD said on Oct. 16 at about 4:22 p.m., an ambulance was dispatched to the 800 block of Janice Street in Grandview Plaza for an infant who was not breathing.
The infant was transported to Geary Community Hospital for treatment. She was later transported by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for additional treatment of those injuries.
Police initiated an investigation into the cause of the suspected injuries, and were assisted in various ways by members of the Geary County Sheriff Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Junction City Police Department.
Bailey was in Geary County Court this past Tuesday for first appearance, with a violation of the court’s no contact order involving the child’s mother.
The two month old girl at last report was listed in critical condition in intensive care. She has been placed in the custody of the Kansas Department for Children and Families.
