Updated 10:45 a.m.:

A Manhattan man arrested Wednesday night is apparently connected with the series of robberies announced by Riley County Police last Friday.

As KMAN announced earlier Thursday morning,  Sean Johnson, 20, was taken into custody at about seven p.m. Wednesday while at the Riley County Police Department. Johnson’s bond has been set at 150-thousand dollars.

A news release from RCPD from Thursday morning reminds us in the early morning hours Friday, a series of Robberies and a Theft were reported in the central portion of Manhattan. In two of these incidents the suspects were armed with a handgun. Riley County Police Officers set up a perimeter in the area and subsequently became involved in a foot pursuit of a suspect who was last seen running onto the KSU campus, which went into lockdown for several hours.

Detectives with the Riley County Police Department were recently able to identify a suspect and place him under arrest and that individual has been identified as Johnson. Johnson was placed under arrest for two counts of Aggravated Robbery, Robbery, Contributing to a Childs Misconduct and for Theft.

This case continues to be under investigation and additional arrests are expected to be made. Persons with information about this crime are asked to contact RCPD or Manhattan Riley County Crimestoppers.

Possible charges are listed as two counts of aggravated robbery, robbery, felony contributing to child misconduct, and possession of stolen property. Information is not yet available about the original case against Johnson but at least three separate incident numbers are listed on the early arrest report from RCPD.
