Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Roy Cephas Jr., 18, of Manhattan, while at the Riley County Police Department early yesterday morning. Cephas was arrested on two Riley County District Court warrants, one for battery and one for failure to appear. Cephas’ bond was set at $10,000.00. Cephas was not confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for a motor vehicle theft in the 900 block of Denison Ave. yesterday morning. Officers listed Arthur Selman, 52, of Manhattan, as the victim, when an unknown suspect took his blue 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee sometime between Wednesday at 9:15 PM and Thursday at 7:45 AM. The vehicle has a “Thule” ski rack on the roof and faded paint on the hood. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,000.00. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2400 block of Greenbriar Dr. yesterday. Officers listed Trenton Miller, 19, of Manhattan, as the victim when his silver Dodge pickup had the driver and passenger side mirrors destroyed sometime between late Wednesday night and Thursday morning by an unknown suspect. Officers responded to an injury accident at the intersection of N. Manhattan Ave. and Petticoat Ln. yesterday afternoon. When officers arrived, they found that a silver Mazda passenger car driven by Barry Flinchbaugh, 74, of Manhattan, struck Cody Webb, 20, of Manhattan. Cody, a pedestrian, was struck trying to cross N. Manhattan Ave. Cody was transported to Via Christi hospital for treatment. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Officers filed multiple reports for theft in the 300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd Thursday. Officers listed Best Buy as the victim, as over the past 10 days, a number of unknown suspects took multiple high value items, including Xbox One’s, Playstation 4’s, and an Apple IMac. The total loss associated with these cases is approximately $5,345.00 stretched over five separate incidents. Narianna Williams, 19, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department yesterday afternoon. Williams was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear, and an additional Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear. Williams’ bond was set at $10,500.00, causing her to be confined at the time of this report.
