RCPD Report – 1/11/16

0
By KMAN Staff on January 11, 2016 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Plymate Lane in Manhattan on January 8, 2016 at approximately 12:30 PM for a theft which occurred between January 1, 2016 and January 4, 2016. Police found that Bryan Gauntt, 51, of Manhattan became the victim of this crime when his 2014 black carry on trailer valued at approximately $1,203.00 was removed without his permission. The trailer was listed as missing at the time of this report and anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

An incident involving a firearm caused police to respond to the 1800 block of Priboth Road in southern Manhattan and police in Riley County concluded their response with no use of force to effect the arrest. The report was filed on January 9, 2016 at approximately 7:40 AM when police were told of an incident that involved a rifle which was fired at an occupied vehicle. There were no injuries listed. Officers began their investigation and found that a 29-year-old female was in a verbal altercation with Arthur Corgill III, 23, of Manhattan when the situation escalated. Corgill was then said to have fired a rifle round at a vehicle that was occupied by that 29-year-old female as well as a 32-year-old male (the vehicle is owned by a 21-year-old male who was not present at the time of this incident). Officers made contact with Corgill and subsequently took him into custody at approximately 11:30 AM after the investigation led to probable cause. Police officials confirm that the public was not in immediate danger as a result of this incident as it appeared to be isolated. The victims and suspect were known to each other and due to a domestic relationship victim information has been withheld. Corgill was arrested for the offenses of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal discharge of a firearm, and criminal damage to property. He was confined at the time of this report on a bond of $16,000.00.

Police are currently looking for information on the disappearance of a 2003 Mazda Tribute LX valued at approximately $24,000.00. This vehicle belongs to Donald Bush, 51, of Manhattan and was reported stolen on January 10, 2016 at approximately 10:20 AM in the 500 block of Houston Street. Currently suspect(s) are unknown and officers are asking for the public’s assistance. If you have information about this crime and wish to qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00 contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers
