Riley County and K-State Police Departments are working in conjunction to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a series of lewd acts on campus and in the community. A picture of the individual in question can be viewed here.
Two arrests were made in Manhattan on December 17, 2015 as a result of a longterm and ongoing investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Manhattan and Riley County community. This investigation included uniformed patrol officers, detectives, undercover special investigation detectives, and support staff with the Riley County Police Department. Their combined investigative work culminated in a search warrant which was executed at 1501 Tuttle Creek Boulevard, which is the location of The Royal Inn.
Police arrested Kenneth Brown, 52, of 1501 Tuttle Creek Blvd. for the offenses of sale or distribution of stimulants (X3), conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine (X2), and use of a telecommunication device to facilitate a drug transaction (X4). He was given a bond of $33,000.
Edward Houston Jr., 50, of 246 W 14th Street in Junction City, Kansas was also arrested. Houston was taken into custody for the offenses of sale or distribution of stimulants (X2) possession of opiates, opium, or narcotic drugs, use of a telecommunication device to facilitate a drug transaction (X2), conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and flee or attempt to elude law enforcement. He was given a bond of $41,000.
Houston was arrested in the 400 block of Fort Riley Blvd. after attempting to flee for one block after officers attempted to make a traffic stop. He exited his vehicle and was apprehended quickly while on foot.
As a result of this combined effort over one ounce of methamphetamine was seized. This amount of illegal narcotic has a street level value of approximately $1,500.
Additional arrests are anticipated pending further investigation.
