RCPD Report 9/10/15

The Riley County Police Department responded to a report of an aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery which had just occurred early Thursday morning in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard.  Derek Macy, 45, of Manhattan reported that a suspect, who was not known to him, had entered his residence  at about 12:20 a.m. and demanded items.
The suspect was reportedly armed with a knife and  exited the residence a short time later without taking anything. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, with a slender build and dark clothing.

The victim was not injured during this incident. This case is still under investigation and police are asking anyone with information on these crimes to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

A Manhattan man faces charges in North Carolina and was taken into custody by Riley County Police Wednesday morning. Steven McDaniel, 23, was arrested on a Cumberland County (North Carolina) warrant for Burglary and Probation Violation.

McDaniel was arrested while in the 3400 block of Treesmill Drive at about 9:50 AM. There was no bond attached to this warrant.

A Wakarusa woman facing burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property charges in Shawnee County was taken into custody in Manhattan Wednesday. Riley County Police indicate Danielle Hutchison, 25, was arrested on while in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza at approximately 11:37 AM.

Bond was listed as $10,000.

A 31-year-old Manhattan man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant with an $8,000 bond Wednesday afternoon. Jason Harris was taken into custody on the Manhattan Municipal Court warrant while at the Riley County Police Department shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The original offense listed is Driving While Suspended and Driving While a Habitual Violator
