A February 14th jury trial has been set for a Manhattan man facing three counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.Jase Stanton’s case continues to get delayed, with the original case occurring in June of 2015–and trial rescheduled at least a couple of times. A motions hearing was held early this year (2016) with a trial then set for April–Stanton was again set for trial this past week but the case was delayed with a status hearing held earlier this week.
Three men identified as Fort Riley soldiers testified regarding the June seventh incident, when they indicated they met Stanton at a Manhattan bar. The men said they went to his home where he had promised there would be women, but passed out after consuming part of a mixed drink made by Stanton.
As KMAN first reported at the time, Stanton made Kansas City Headlines in 2009 and resigned from his position as a field coordinator with Todd Tiahrt’s U-S Senate campaign after being accused of aggravated criminal sodomy and sexual battery. He was later convicted of those crimes.
