The regular season got underway on Thursday as the reigning Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers matched up with the New Orleans Saints.
Two former K-State players found the endzone in the contest. The Packers Jordy Nelson hauled in a 3-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. K-State’s all-time leading rusher Darren Sproles returned a punt 72 yards for a score for the Saints late in the first half.
It was Nelson’s Packers who got the better of the Saints, as Green Bay eked out a 42-34 win at Lambeau Field.
