Chiefs lose to Raiders in overtime, eliminated from playoff hunt

Seabastian Janikowski’s 36-yard Field Goal a little over two minutes into overtime allowed the Oakland Raiders to escape Arrowhead Stadium with a 16-13 victory and knock the Kansas City Chiefs out of the playoff race in the process.   The Chiefs had tied the game on Quarterback Kyle Orton’s three-yard touchdown pass to Dwayne Bowe with 1:02 left in regulation and had a chance to win the game without overtime but the Raiders blocked a Ryan Succop Field Goal attempt in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to keep the game tied.  Succop also had a kick blocked just before halftime.

With the win….Oakland’s fifth straight over the Chiefs at Arrowhead….the Raiders keep alive their hopes for the AFC West title.  Meanwhile, the Chiefs though out of the playoff picture can play the role of spoiler in the season finale next Sunday when they travel to Denver to face Tim Tebow and the Broncos who were thrashed on Saturday in Buffalo 40-14.
