High School Results from 12-1-2011
Riley County vs. Colby (Hays City Shootout)
The Lady Falcons held on for a 42-37 victory over Colby. Riley County was led in scoring by Rachel Rheaume who had 18 points. Kelly Thomson chipped in 13 for the Falcons as well.
The boys squad notched a 63-47 win over Colby in their opening round tilt. Cameron Uphoff paced the Falcons with 17 points. Joel Garver had 16 and Kyle Cook added 11 in the victory.
Blue Valley vs. Washington County (Washington Preseason Tournament)
The Blue Valley girls fell to the Tigers 62-27 in the opening round of the tournament. Washington County raced out to a 32-6 half-time lead over the Rams. Blue Valley did manage to put up 21 points after intermission but couldn’t overcome the first half deficit. Carlyn Olson led the Rams with 9 points. Tiffany Shaheen added 5 points in the loss.
The Blue Valley boys squad led 11-5 after the first quarter of action, but Washington County would outscore the Rams 40-20 after that point en route to a 45-31 win. Levi Peter paced the Rams scoring 13 points.
Wamego @ Rossville
The Red Raiders split games against the Bulldogs. The girls squad earned a hard-fought 49-39 victory. The boys came up just three points shy in their game, losing 47-44.
