NORMAL, Ill. (AP) Manhattan High grad Jackie Carmichael hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to cap a wild finish and give Illinois State a 75-73 victory over Evansville on Saturday.  The last minute of the game featured five lead changes before Carmichael’s shot gave the Redbirds (11-4, 3-1 Missouri Valley) the win. Illinois State got baskets from Tyler Brown with 41 seconds left and Nic Moore with 7 seconds remaining, but Evansville (7-7, 2-2) countered with a 3-pointer by Colt Ryan at the 18-second mark and Lewis Jones hit both ends of a one-and-one free-throw situation with 2.8 seconds remaining in the frantic finish.  Carmichael had 17 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for the Redbirds. Brown added 16 points, with 15 coming in the second half.  Ryan scored 25 points to lead the Purple Aces, who shot 56 percent from the field. Denver Holmes added 18 points and Troy Taylor had eight assists and five steals.
