A Manhattan businessman is indicating an interest in the soon to be vacated State Representative seat of Susan Mosier of Manhattan.
Radio Shack owner Frank Beer tells KMAN he is interested in seeking the seat at the point Mosier officially resigns.
Mosier had confirmed to KMAN news last week she would be resigning her position as a state legislator to take on a new role as Director of Medicaid Services for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. However she added an exact date had not yet been determined, although her new job starts March first.
Beer says he’s had a life-long interest in politics. He has been active in the Manhattan Area chamber of commerce since he moved to Manhattan 11 years ago.
