A multiple car accident in Manhattan Sunday morning has left a Topeka man in critical condition.

According to Riley County Police reports released Tuesday, 60-year-old Jerome Little of Topeka was southbound on Tuttle Creek Boulevard just after 11 a-m Sunday, when he approached the intersection with Leavenworth Avenue at a high rate of speed. Little failed to stop at the traffic light, slamming into the rear-end of a vehicle driven by Abdelmalik Hussein, 47, of Kansas City, Kansas.

Hussein’s vehicle then was propelled into a third vehicle driven by David Stanely, 47, of Kansas City, Missouri. Little’s vehicle then caught on fire and several onlookers pulled him from the wreckage before emergency responders could arrive.

Little was unable to move his legs and was Life Starred to Via Christi in Wichita, where he is listed in critical condition.

Hussein and Stanley were both uninjured.
