K-State is one of only three teams to put a pair of players on the 10-member women’s all-Big 12 first team with Brittany Chambers and Jalana Childs. It’s the second straight year Chambers has been first team all league, while Childs was 2nd team all Big 12 last year. Chambers led the Cats in both scoring and rebounding as a guard at 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Childs posted averages of 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Baylor placed two players on the all-Big 12 first team, Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims, plus Oklahoma put Aaryn Ellenberg and Whitney Hand on the squad.
The K-State women will try to avenge a pair of losses to Iowa State when they open the Big 12 tournament on Thursday morning. Tipoff from Municipal Auditorium is at 11:00 am, and pregame begins at 10:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
