    Riley County Police Reports – March 19th 2012

    1.

    Police say a  break in near the 6100 block of Tuttle terrace  resulted in a loss of over $2,400  in equipment.

    Lynn Blecha told Riley county police officers  two chainsaws and battery operated tools were taken from a shop located on Tuttle Terrace on Friday evening.

    Police say no arrests have been made  and the investigation is ongoing.

    2.

    In a Monday morning briefing Riley County police reported an incident of sodomy against a 13 year old Manhattan female.

    Police say the incident took place in the southeast of Manhattan, and was reported on Friday.

    The suspect is known to the victim.  No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

    3.

    According to Riley County Police a severe vehicle accident occurred on Friday resulting in a New York woman being Life-starred to Saint Francis Health Center in Wichita.

    Police say at around 0600 pm Samantha Caplan was driving north in her Toyota Camry on west 68th street at the Fort Riley Boulevard intersection when she collided with Steven Peterman; who was driving a Ford F450 eastbound on Fort Riley Boulevard.

    Caplan was cited with driving with a suspended or revoked license, and failure to yield the right of way.

    Caplan complained of numbness to her left side, and was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center.  Caplan later was Life-starred to Saint Francis Health Center after initial treatment.
