PHILADELPHIA (AP) The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Kansas State running back Bryce Brown with their final pick of the NFL draft.

The 6-foot, 220-pound Brown ran for 460 yards as a freshman at Tennessee before transferring to Kansas State. He sat out 2010 and carried only three times for 16 yards before leaving the team in September.

Brown is the ninth player chosen by the Eagles and was the 229th player selected overall. The Eagles acquired this pick from Atlanta for perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel earlier in the week.

With Brown’s selection, Kansas State extended its streak of players drafted into the NFL to 19 consecutive years.
