For its 75th Anniversary for the Kansas State Highway Patrol decided to give 14 vehicles a makeover.
Master Trooper Rich Hageman says the new special edition cars are in the style of the original paint job of the 1937 grey and blue edition, with the cherry beacon light on top. He says they went away from that paint style quite awhile ago. It was 1993 when the change was made to a solid color.
Only 14 Troopers were picked to have the vehicles, with Master Troper Hageman the closest to the Manhattan area. The next closest location with one of the retro vehicles is Salina.
