Flint Hills Christian School Receives New Leadership

By KMAN Staff on June 19, 2012 Local News

After 6 years in the position of administrator and principal at the Flint Hills Christian School, Frank Leone is stepping down to make room for someone new, Tim McDonald.

According to Leone, McDonald will bring an international perspective to the school due to his recent service in China and Kenya.

“I also see [McDonald] raising the profile of the school in the community and connecting the school better to area Christian churches,” Leone said.

Leone began transferring his role to McDonald at the beginning of the month, as his final day was expected to be June 18.

With the change in leadership, Flint Hills Christian School still has room to grow.

“My major hope is that Flint Hills Christian School can become more visible in the community, so that Christian families will know we are a viable educational option for their children,” McDonald said.

The school is also awaiting the decision as to whether they have achieved accreditation or not, as Leone stated that they should find out by the end of the month.

With his leaving his position at the Flint Hills Christian School, Leone still has some decisions to make.

“My plans include a couple of possibilities ,” Leone said.  “I may be training teachers at a regional school in Kansas or the other, which has as much appeal or more, is going into semi-retirement and working with some non profits.”
