    Attempted robbery at Manhattan motel

    The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted aggravated robbery to the Best Western Motel located in the 600 block of East Poyntz in Manhattan. The incident occurred at a little before 10:30 Sunday night .

    The night clerk reported a male suspect wearing black clothing, black hoodie and having a bandana covering his face approached the clerk brandishing a knife and demanding money. The clerk allegedly struck the suspect with a phone, and the suspect then fled the scene empty handed . The suspect was described having a medium build.

    Anyone in the area that may have seen this individual leaving the area of East Poyntz, or has any information on this crime is asked to contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 457-3353.
