K-State legends return to Manhattan for charity

A group of former K-State football players will unite this weekend to raise money for the No Stone Unturned Foundation.  The Wildcat Legends for Charity Weekend includes a dinner & auction on Friday night and a golf tournament on Saturday morning.  Proceeds will benefit local children and families affected by CFC Syndrome and other genetic and neurological differences.  Former K-State offensive guard and current Youngstown State head coach Eric Wolford and his wife Melinda are organizers of the event.

“We keep all the money here in the Manhattan area,” Wolford said.  “We have some meetings coming up looking at some different opportunities, and potenially taking some big steps. We’ve talked about a therapy center for kids with disabilities, getting involved with K-State, and looking at the therapy programs they have there.  We’re even potentially looking at a school, like the Ridge Center in Youngstown for kids with autism, where my wife works once a week.”  The event will also benefit the Eljah Alexander Tackle Cancer foundation.

Wolford says there’s an impressive group of former K-Staters attending the Wildcat Legends for Charity Weekend, including coach Snyder.  Those former players scheduled to attend include Paul Coffman, Mark Simoneau, Jamie Mendez, David Allen, Kevin Lockett, Jon McGraw, Quentin Neujahr, Andre Coleman, Frank Hernandez, Michael Smith.

The Wildcat Legends for Charity Weekend dinner and auction is Friday night at 6:00pm at the K-State Alumni Center.  Tickets are $60 dollars per person, and are available at the door or at nostonefoundation.org.
