For the  first time in school history, the K-State volleyball is 9-0 to begin the season, and eight of their wins have been in straight sets.  The Cats though were kept off balance by Utah State on Saturday night at Ahearn Fieldhouse, but prevailed 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17.  Kaitlynn Pelger had a balanced night to lead the way with 11 kills, 12 digs, and six blocks.  Lilla Porubek added nine kills in the victory.  Utah State (5-4) was paced by 10 kills from Rachel Orr.

K-State will be tested before Big 12 play begins at Oklahoma on September 19th.  The Cats will play in the Golden Hurricane Invitational at Tulsa next.  Up first is Tulsa on Thursday night, who beat the Sooners in five sets earlier this season.  First serve will be at 7:00pm, with the Standard Plumbing, Heating & Air pregame at 6:30pm on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.  The Cats will then face a pair of teams ranked in the top  15 this week; #14 Minnesota on Friday and #10 Dayton on Saturday.
