K-State volleyball first Wildcats to face West Virginia in Big 12 play

For the first time, the K-State volleyball team will meet West Virginia on Thursday night, but it certainly won’t be the last.  The two teams are now Big 12 conference bedfellows as the Mountaineers are a first year member of the league.  West Virginia is 8-7 and 0-2 in the Big 12, while the #15 Cats are 13-1, but are also looking for their first league win.  K-State senior libero Kuulei Kabalis says the Cats are excited to face a new league opponent.

K-State was flying high into the Big 12 opener against Oklahoma last Wednesday.  But, the Sooners quickly humbled the Wildcats, sweeping their way to a victory at home in Norman.  K-State started to regain their stride on Saturday with a straight sets victory against Nebraska-Omaha.  Junior middle blocker Kaitlynn Pelger says the Cats were disappointed with the way they came out on the floor against Oklahoma, but bounced back well against the Mavericks.

#15 K-State volleyball will host West Virginia on Thursday night at 7:00pm at Ahearn Fieldhouse.  The Standard Plumbing, Heating & Air pregame show begins at 6:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
