Numerous missing construction items and containers add up to a hefty loss for a Manhattan construction company.

Riley County Police received a report of missing construction equipment Tuesday  morning around 10:30 a.m.

The victim in this case is Cheney Construction, located on the 1100 block of Hayes Drive.  Ronald Cheney (58) reported numerous items were removed from a job site on the 4400 of Anderson Avenue by an unknown suspect.  He believes the items were taken sometime between April and May  of this year.

Five construction storage containers were taken, for a loss of $20,000, and $17,000 worth of other miscellaneous construction items were taken as well.

The total loss is $37,000 and the investigation is still ongoing.

An arrest is finally made in a theft that occurred a few months ago.

Konrad Kelson (18), of Manhattan, was arrested by Riley County Police for: making false writing, burglary to a dwelling, and theft.

This stems back to a burglary that took place sometime between August 30th and September 3rd on the 1900 block of Poyntz Avenue.  After his residence was entered by force, Robert Sager (62), of Manhattan, reported $300 worth of damage and a significant amount of property was taken.

Items taken include: a Rolex watch, a $10,000 financial written instrument and $400 in cash belonging to  Caroline Sager (16).

Kelson was arrested in conjunction with this theft and his bond was set at $5,500.
