Arrests
K-State Police and Riley County Police partnered up to charge one Manhattan man with a number of misdemeanors and felonies.
Around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning, Kansas State police arrested Andre Murphy (33) on the K-State campus for three counts of theft. Riley County Police assisted in the theft investigation. Murphy was arrested on a $3,000 bond and is currently confined.
Several thousands of dollars worth of property, believed to belong to K-State, was recovered , as were drugs, currency and a firearm. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
Riley County Police issued a search warrant for Murphy’s home on Yuma Street. Murphy was then charged with- possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, one count of possession of marijuana no drug tax stamp, criminal possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. The total bond from all of these charges is $17,000.
Murphy is a university custodial employee at Kansas State University.

A Wamego man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for two drug charges.
Ricardo Carrillo-Levya (34) was arrested by Riley County Police around 12:15 p.m. yesterday for two counts of drug charges.
The first count was for distribution of meth on June 7th of this year, and the second count was also for distribution of meth on June 28th.
Carrillo-Levya’s bond was set at $15,000.

Incidents
After being held at gunpoint, a Manhattan woman is lucky to only have one item taken from her.
Around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Melanie Fritts (22) was robbed at gunpoint on the 900 block of Laramie, south alley.
Fritts had parked in the driveway and was just getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by a male. The male was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask, and produced a handgun.
The hooded man stole Fritts’s $100 cell phone . The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

One sorority is left composite-less after a theft.
Riley County Police reported Wednesday morning that a sorority composite picture had been taken from the Alpha Chi Omega house on the 1800 block of Todd Road.
June Wilson, who lives in the house, reported the composite was taken sometime between midnight and 6:00 a.m. on the 6th of September.
The total loss is $3,000 and the investigation is still ongoing at this time.
