A proposed rate hike ordinance is getting a first look at the next Manhattan City commission meeting on Tuesday night.
Assistant city manager Lauren Palmer says the increase consists of a 3% rate hike, and is less than previously thought due to revenues generated by increased water fees over a very dry summer.
If approved these increases will mostly be applied to commercial users, and anyone using over 18 units of water. The hike is part of a five year plan to flatten water rates between residential users, who largely won’t be affected by the rate hike, and commercial interests.
An updated design on storm water infrastructure improvements in the Poyntz downtown area is part of the consent agenda.
The work session is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm at city hall.
