MHS Wrestling Places in Top 10 at Nebraska Tournament

The Manhattan High wrestling team pushed their dual meet record to 11-3 as they won six of seven matches over the weekend at the Flatwater Fracas in Grand Island, NE.  The Tribe went 2-1 in pool play matches on Friday, beating Blair, NE 40-31 and Adams Central, NE 54-15, but they lost to Kearney, NE 42-26.  Because MHS finished second in their pool, they couldn’t place in the top eight of the tournament.  The Indians though did come in 9th by winning their final four duals against Aurora, NE 42-27, North Platte, NE 46-21, Bellevue East, NE 37-30, and Gretna, NE 39-34.  120-pound Kian Clemens and 138-pound Josh Mullin went unbeaten in their seven matches for MHS.

Manhattan High wrestling will close out the 2012 portion of their schedule by hosting Derby and Council Bluffs, IA Thomas Jefferson on Thursday evening.  Derby will wrestle Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at 5:00pm, Manhattan will face Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at 6:30, and the evening will conclude with Manhattan and Derby at 8:00.
