Rodney McGruder scored 20 points and Will Spradling added 15 as 16th-ranked Kansas State took advantage of turnovers and knocked down 10 three-point baskets on their way to a 69-60 victory over Oklahoma Saturday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum.

The Wildcats and Sooners spent much of the first half taking turns with the lead before K-State rode an 11-2 run to end the firsthalf and take a 35-27 lead at halftime. Kansas State stretched the lead to as much as 14 points in the second half and while Oklahoma cut the advantage in half at one point, the Sooners could draw no closer as they were plagued by 16 turnovers.

K-State was able to keep their distance from Lon Kruger’s squad despite being outrebounded 39-25. Joining McGruder and Spradling in double figures were Angel Rodriguez and Shane Southwell with 12 points apiece. McGruder continued his hot shooting since conference play began by draining four of K-State’s 10 treys in helping the Wildcats run their current winning streak to eight games.

Kansas State (15-2, 4-0) now faces another stiff test on Tuesday night when the fourth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks arrive in Bramlage Coliseum. KU is riding a 15-game winning streak of its own after rallying for a 64-59 win at Texas earlier Saturday afternoon.
