By KMAN Staff on January 16, 2013 K-State Sports

Brittney Griner scored 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, blocked three shots, and threw down a one-handed dunk as #1 Baylor beat K-State 90-69 on Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum.  Griner shot 12 of 19 from the field, and made five of nine attempts from the foul line.  Her dunk came with 4:38 remaining in the game to put the Lady Bears up 83-58.  Brittany Chambers led the Wildcats with 23 points and five assists.  She drained four of nine from three-point range, as K-State (10-7, 1-4) attempted the second-most three-pointers in a single game by a Big 12 team since the league formed in 1996 with 44.  Ashia Woods also had 11 points and six rebounds.  Kimetria Hayden added 11 points and seven assists for Baylor (15-1, 5-0).

The Cats hung right with the Lady Bears in the first half, trailing just 40-35 with 3:14 to go before halftime.  But, Baylor closed the half on a 6-2 run to lead 46-37 at the break.  The Lady Bears then opened the second half on a 21-3 run, and would build their lead to as many as 27 points.

K-State will get a quick rematch with TCU on Saturday night at 7:00pm in Fort Worth.  The Cats edged the Horned Frogs 59-58 at Bramlage Coliseum just 11 days ago.  Pregame from Daniel-Meyer Coliseum begins at 6:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
