Rodney McGruder scored 26 of his 28 points in the second half as #25 K-State knocked off #22 Oklahoma State 73-67 on Saturday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum in the Big 12 opener for both teams.  McGruder knocked down five of nine three point attempts, and grabbed five rebounds.  Nino Williams added 17 points and five rebounds, shooting 7 of 11 from the floor and a perfect three for three at the free throw line.

The Cats led 64-58 with 5:03 to play before the Cowboys tied the game.  K-State (12-2, 1-0) then went on a 9-1 run down the stretch including a pair of treys from McGruder.  Oklahoma State (10-3, 0-1) was led in scoring by 25 points by freshman Marcus Smart.

K-State has a Big 12 bye on Wednesday, and will take the court again next Saturday at West Virginia against former K-State coach Bob Huggins.  Tipoff will be at 12:30pm in Morgantown, and pregame begins at 11:30am from the K-State Sports Network on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN and 101.5 K-Rock.
