While KMAN alerted you to his candidacy this past weekend, we had a chance to catch up with one of the last minute election filers for Manhattan/Ogden’s USD 383 school board. Aaron Estabrook reminds KMAN funding for education was one of the main issues emphasized in his last campaign for public office.
Estabrook says he thinks his background also serves him well for a role such as school board member. Estabrook currently works for The Salvation Army as a Case Manager for Homeless Veterans across northern Kansas. He is a returning combat Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Aaron, and his wife, Kimberly are the proud parents of two young daughters. Aaron said, “this elected role is important to me not only as leader but as a father, I want the best for their future”.
And the school board candidate says he has a vested interest not only with his daughters’ education but for the future of our state, describing education as the driver of economic development and innovation to get us back on track.
Estabrook also expresses concern about the latest homeless numbers that have been released, which includes 9,000 school children.
