More of I-70 is officially closed. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced the eastbound lanes, from Exit 54 near Colby to Exit 249 near Salina.
The westbound lanes from Hays to Salina continue to be closed at this time.

I-70 is closed down both directions from Salina to Hays.That’s according to Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. Greg Harkrader, who urges motorists to stay off the roads if at all possible.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) also confirmed it closed I-70, from Exit 159 in Hays to Exit 249 near Salina, in both directions. All other routes in Kansas remain snow-packed and travel is widely discouraged. For up to date road closures and road conditions, motorists are asked to call 511 in Kansas
Meanwhile, Lt. Harkrader was quick to give credit to those working hard to clear state roads Thursday. And Harkrader was also happy to report most people are staying home and off of the road.
There have been no major collisions reported in the Manhattan area, though there have been some slide offs, with speed being the most common reason for those incidents.
The last report regarding snowfall from the Manhattan Regional airport indicated six inches had fallen by noon.
