All five starters scored in double figures for K-State, before #1 Baylor eventually pulled away for a 90-68 win on Monday night at the Ferrell Center in Waco.  Brittney Griner exploded for a Big 12 single-game record 50 points on Senior Night, going 21-of-29 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the line.  She also grabbed six rebounds and blocked two shots.

The Cats jumped out to an 11-6 lead before the Lady Bears pulled ahead 45-34 at halftime.  K-State didn’t quit, chipping away at the Baylor advantage until they pulled within 63-60 with 11:57 to go on a Brittany Chambers layup.  However, that’s when the Lady Bears kicked it into gear by going on a 25-2 run, as the Cats hit just one field goal over the next 9:28.

Chambers led K-State (14-16, 5-13) with 22 points and seven rebounds in her final Big 12 regular season game.  Haley Texada had 13 points, Bri Craig chipped in with 12 points, Chantay Caron scored 11, and Mariah White added 10.  The Cats hit 15 of 35 three-pointers as a team, led by Chambers with four.  Two other players were in double figures for Baylor (29-1, 18-0), Destiny Williams scored 14 points, and Odyssey Sims contributed 12.

The K-State women will open the Big 12 tournament on Friday night at 6:00pm as the #8 seed against #9 seed Texas at American Airlines Center in Dallas.  Pregame will begin at 5:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN from the K-State Sports Network.
