Putting up their two biggest offensive outputs of the season, the K-State baseball team took both games in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon against Oakland, and swept the three-game series from the Golden Grizzlies.  The Cats built a 5-0 lead over Oakland thru four innings in the opener, but the Golden Grizzlies struck back for two runs in the top of the 7th to pull within 5-2.  K-State responded to put the game away with four runs in the bottom half of the 7th, keyed by a two-run blast off the bat of Jared King.  He led the team with a pair of hits.  Joe Flattery (1-1) earned the win on his longest outing of the season, going 6 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

R.J. Santigate knocked in four runs and had three total hits including a double hits as the Cats routed Oakland 13-3 in game two on Sunday.  Jon Davis, Mitch Meyer, and Shane Conlon also had multi-hit efforts for K-State.  Conlon also scored three runs as he extended his hitting streak to nine games, the fourth longest string to begin a season in Wildcat history.  Matt Wivinis (1-0) earned the win in his third start, going 5 1/3 innings with three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

K-State will play five games this week starting with a two-game midweek set against Niagara.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm on both Friday and Saturday.  The BD4 Distributing pregame show will begin both days at 2:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.  The Cats will welcome Cal Poly for a three-game series this weekend.
