Dawn Lindsley, from Manhattan attended the recent Association for Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) National Policy Seminar (NPS) in Arlington, Virginia, and met with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill to educate them about the value of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
While attending ACTE’s three-day briefing on federal policies,Lindsley, along with five other representatives of the Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education (K-ACTE) consulted with all of the Kansas Congressional Delegation to encourage continued support for CTE and other education and workforce development programs.
At the opening session of the NPS, attendees heard from Dr. Anthony Carnevale, Director and research professor of the Georgetown University Center of Education and the Workforce, who spoke on his research findings in career outcomes for students engaging in CTE programs of study in secondary and postsecondary settings.
