Mitch Meyer and Shane Conlon each hit home runs and Ross Kivett went four for four to power a 17-hit attack as the Kansas State Baseball team bounced back from a tough loss on Friday to steamroll past Iowa 11-4 Saturday afternoon in Iowa City.

K-State jumped out to a 9-2 lead after five innings and benefitted from three Hawkeye errors one day after seeing their season-high six-game winning streak come to an end. Several Wildcats took part in the hit parade with multiple-hit games. In addition to Kivett’s four hits, Tanner Witt had three, while Conlon, Meyer and Blair De Board each had two apiece. The offensive firepower was beneficial to the K-State pitching staff as Jared Moore (2-0) got the victory in relief of starter Matt Wivinis by working three and one third scoreless innings.

Kansas State (25-11) will wrap up the series with Iowa on Sunday afternoon in Iowa City. The two teams had been scheduled to face off at the Iowa Cubs’ ballpark in Des Moines in the late afternoon. First pitch is now set for 12:05 p.m.
