    Update: Pottawatomie County Jail Fugitive Caught

    GetzlaffUpdate:  The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department has captured the escaped inmate.

    At about 12:30 AM Saturday, Jon Adrian Getzlaff, 24, of Wamego, was taken back into custody by the Sheriff’s Department.

    Getzlaff was captured in Westmoreland.

    Below is our story from earlier Friday.

    The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department is seeking an inmate who escaped from the Pottawatomie County detention facility’s exercise yard shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. Jon Adrian Getzlaff, 24, of Wamego is described as 5’4″, weighing about 150 pounds, with short hair and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt with a word like “relax” on it and black and white striped pants. Getzlaff was being held on a variety of drug-related charges and had been confined since March 30th.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement authorities, with the Pottawatomie County sheriff’s number of 457-3353, or Riley County Police at 537-2112, or the Crimestoppers line at 539-7777.
