WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A 27-year-old Wichita man who opened fire inside a store last August has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault.
KFDI-FM reports Jake Jacobs entered the pleas in Sedgwick County District Court on Monday, the same day he was scheduled to go on trial.
Jacobs was charged with firing a shot at a Burlington Coat Factory security guard who asked if he planned to pay for a soda he had just drunk. The shot missed the guard.
He was also accused of pointing his gun at three customers, none of whom were injured.
Police found Jacobs near the store’s dressing rooms and arrested him after a struggle.
Prosecutors dropped two other charges in exchange for Jacobs’ plea. He faces sentencing May 16.
