The Flint Hills Metropolitan Planning organization has a new Transportation Planner. Stephanie Watts, who has been serving with the Kansas Department of Transportation in a similar role, has been hired to work with the local group. The announcement was made at the group’s Wednesday meeting.
Watts says the Flint HIlls Metropolitan Planning organization’s policy board dealt with just a few items earlier this week, taking action on the technical advisory board’s by-laws. A chair and vice-chair are to be selected to that group next month. In addition the local match for 2014 was approved by the group.
Watts doesn’t officially become the Flint Hills MPO transportation planner until later this month on May 29. Watts is a Kansas state graduate with a Master of Regional and Community planning.
