    Burglaries In Pottawatomie County

    The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two residential burglaries, The first burglary occurred between May 31st and June 3rd in St. Mary’s on Seminole Drive. In this burglary the suspect or suspects entered the residence by prying a rear patio door. Taken were a Benelli shotgun, 2 Weatherby shotguns, 2 Weatherby rifles, a Ruger .22 pistol, Flat screen television other electronics,tools, fishing equipment, golfing items and food. The amount of loss in this burglary is estimated at approximately 20-thousand dollars.

    The second burglary occurred on this past Friday at a rural residence in the area of Diamond Rd. , and Highway 63 of rural St.Mary’s. The suspect or suspects in this burglary made entrance to the home through a rear door during the daytime hours.Taken were a Whites metal detector, a Ruger 10-22 rifle, a Remington 243 Rifle, and a Dell Laptop computer. While inside the residence the suspects fired a gun multiple times causing damage to other items inside the house, as well as the house. The gun fired inside the residence was not one that was from the residence and it is believed the suspect or suspects had that gun with them. Loss from theft and damage from this call are estimated at approximately nine-thousand dollars.

    Anyone with information on either of the crimes is urged to call the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 457-3353.
