After Kansas State pulled out a thrilling come from behind win against Oregon State in game one of the Super Regional’s in Corvallis, the Wildcats were just one win away from the College World Series. The Beaver offense came to play and they got things going quick in a 12-4 victory over K-State to force an all or nothing game three Monday night at Goss Stadium.

Oregon State blasted out five runs on six hits in the first inning alone, and that is after the Wildcat pitching staff held the Beavers to just seven hits total in game one. Oregon State continued to pound out runs as the score was 9-1 at the end of the third inning. K-State went through six pitchers total in the ball game including starter Blake McFadden lasting just two thirds of the first inning before being lifted for a reliever.

Oregon State had one of the best pitchers in the country on the mound in Andrew Moore and he certainly didn’t disappoint any of the fans in Goss Stadium. Moore pitched eight solid innings giving up only three earned runs to the potent Wildcat offense and striking out nine in the process. All in all, Oregon State had 21 hits total with only one batter in the line up not having at least one hit, eight Beaver hitters had at least two hits. The Wildcat offense could only muster six hits with their four runs, including a Jared King solo homer in the second inning.

Now it all comes down to game three of the NCAA Super Regionals on Monday night with the first pitch scheduled for 9:00 pm (Central Time). The winner will be off to the College World Series in Omaha, NE.  Pregame coverage from the K-State Sports Network will begin at 8:30 pm and the game can be heard on Sports Radio 1350 KMAN.
