By KMAN Staff on July 19, 2013 Local News

RCPD CoinAs KMAN reported earlier, Tracy Shane Roberts, 44, of Wamego was arrested on Wednesday on charges of theft by deception and making false writings.

We have received additional information from the Riley County Police Department.

In a press release, it stated “On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, The Riley County Police Department’s Investigations Division was made aware of a theft involving an amount of loss totaling more than $25,000.00 in US Currency. The victim, The Flint Hills Area Builders Association, contacted police with concerns regarding their Executive Officer, Tracy Roberts. Detectives then began a thorough investigation into the matter and on July 17, 2013 Roberts was taken into custody.  A search warrant was also conducted on his residence to assist in furthering the investigation. Currently this investigation is ongoing.”

KMAN will keep you updated as details of this case become available.
