Junction City Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night.

JCPD Lt. Jeff Childs says police responded along with EMS to the 700 block of West Eighth Street in Junction City at about seven p.m. Tuesday, in reference to a subject who had been shot.

A female was located in the residence, deceased from a single gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected at this time and an autopsy is scheduled to take place Wednesday. The incident remains under investigation.

The age and name of the victim have not yet been released.
