    Two Arrested In Shooting Of Soldier

    The Junction City Police Department arrested the following subjects Saturday in reference to the shooting of Jeffrey D. Bragg Jr., that had taken place earlier in the day. Angel L. Colon, age 33, of Junction City, on the charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Thomas C. Aven, age 25, a Ft. Riley Soldier, on the charges of Aggravated Battery and Aiding a Felon. Both subjects were confined on no bond at the Geary County Detention Center with a No Bond hold.

    Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday members of the Junction City Police Department and EMS were dispatched to the Shell Station located at 1808 N. Washington Street, in reference to a subject that had been shot. Upon arrival contact was made with Bragg, a Ft. Riley soldier. Mr. Bragg was transported to the Geary Community Hospital and later transferred to Stormont-Vail Hospital in serious condition. During the investigation it was learned that the shooting incident had taken place in the parking lot of Club Rose, 851 Grant Ave., Junction City, Kansas according to Lieutenant Jeff Childs of the Junction City Police Department.
