MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) K-State is preparing to unveil a new statue of head football coach Bill Snyder at the school’s newly renovated stadium.

Artist Spencer Schubert created the 8-feet-tall bronze sculpture. The sculpture was installed Wednesday on a granite pedestal and will be dedicated Friday.

It’s designed to highlight Snyder’s dignified sideline demeanor, along with his leadership and decisiveness.

Schubert also has created busts of Buck O’Neil, Dred Scott and Rush Limbaugh for the Missouri Statehouse.

A whirlwind $75 million upgrade to the Bill Snyder Family Stadium wrapped up last week.
