The K-State volleyball team is receiving votes in the first American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, released on Monday. The Cats are coming off a 21-win season and their second straight NCAA tournament berth. They picked up the seventh most votes of a team not in the top 25.
Defending national champ Texas is the AVCA preseason #1, Iowa State is #15, Kansas checks in at #20, while Oklahoma is also receiving votes, just a few more than the Wildcats.
K-State volleyball opens the season on Friday, August 30th in Las Vegas, NV against the University of Portland at 6:00pm central time.
