Kansas State is one of the nation’s land grant universities which helps administer the United State Department of Agriculture’s 4-H program.
According to organizers the aim of the program is to develop young community members, and give them a leg up as they go forward in the future.
Research and Extension agent Greg McClure says the program is built to bring out the best in the area youth through various activities available through the program such as livestock competitions, and community service.
The 4-H program has a diverse range of activities from agriculture to fine arts. Upcoming events include a shotgun and hunting skills match on the 28th of September, and National 4-H week which starts on October 6th.
