    Broncos Snap Wildcat Volleyball’s Season Opening Streak

    Sabrina Clayton led three players in double figure kills with 16 as Santa Clara defeated K-State volleyball in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, and 25-17 in the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational on Friday night at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, CA.  The Broncos outgunned the Cats 53-24 in kills, as Kaitlynn Pelger led the K-State (7-1) attack with seven kills.  Katie Brand topped the Cats with 21 assists, Tristan McCarty had 16 digs, and Natali Jones tied a career-high with five blocks.  Santa Clara (4-3) also had 11 kills each from Texas transfer Haley Cameron and Nikki Hess.

    K-State will look to bounce back against Cal Poly on Friday night in Berkeley at 6:30pm central time.  Pregame begins at 6:00 on kstatesports.com and will tape delayed after Manhattan High football on NewsRadio 1350 KMAN.
