A scheduling order has been announced in the Michael Schuster case, involving a Manhattan Doctor accused of having unlicensed employees write hundreds of prescriptions for painkillers.

According to James Cross with U-S Attorney Barry Grissom’s office, a trial is set for May 19th, with a hearing on motions for November fourth. there’s also a hearing January 28th on the admissibility of expert evidence and testimony.

Cross indicates there’s still an outstanding motion by Schuster for the judge to reconsider Schuster’s detention. The government is opposing the motion.

Prosecutors allege that from April of 2007 until August 2012 Schuster had staff members write prescriptions for drugs like morphine and oxycodone using signed, blank prescription pads he left while travelling.

In another case being handled by the U-S Attorney’s office, a jury trial is set for December 17th  for Robert Lovgren, 56, of Manhattan. Lovgrenis charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and using a phone in furtherance of drug trafficking. Lovgren was one of 15 people arrested in a federal drug trafficking investigation.
