The winningest coach in K-State volleyball history, Suzie Fritz, earned her 250th career victory during her 13th season with the Wildcats in a three-set sweep of Missouri State on Sunday afternoon in Springfield, MO, 25-17, 25-21, 25-17. Taylor Johnson led the charge on a day with 15.5 team blocks with a career-high nine stuffs. Redshirt freshman setter Katie Brand also broke her career mark with eight rejections, and Kaitlynn Pelger had five. Pelger led K-State with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Johnson had nine kills and hit a team-high .438. Brand piled up 29 assists. The Cats served six aces to follow up 12 in a win over St. Louis on Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark, topped by two apiece from Tristan McCarty and Lilla Porubek.

Long serving runs were a theme of the day, as K-State turned a two-point deficit in the first set into a 15-10 lead over Missouri State with seven straight points. The Bears pulled within two again in the opener before the Cats closed out the set on a 9-3 spurt. Five points in a row for K-State broke a tie at 16 which paved the way for a narrow victory in the next set. An 8-4 start eventually turned into a eight point edge in the third as K-State (12-1) closed out Missouri State (8-5). The Bears were led by 11 kills from Karen Rivatto.

K-State will play one more match before embarking on the Big 12 schedule, an exhibition on Tuesday night against the U-23 Italian National Team. First serve at Ahearn Fieldhouse will be at 7:00pm, and pregame begins at 6:30 on NewsRadio 1350 KMAN with Rob Voelker on the call.
